Endocrine Associates uses EPIC Electronic Medical Record
Endocrine Associates of Connecticut employs EPIC, the same full-service Electronic Medical Record used by the entire Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS). EPIC permits optimal coordination of care among doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies. In addition, the MyChart patient portal (accessible by clicking the box at the top right of this webpage) allows patients to review their appointment schedules, prescriptions, and test results, permitting more efficient communication with physicians and office staff. Endocrine Associates of Connecticut (EACT) is thrilled to announce the addition of two skilled clinicians (and wonderful people) to our practice. In March 2014, we will welcome Donna Greenberg, MSN, APRN, CDE and Karen Moriarty, MSN, ANP-BC to the EACT fold.
Donna Greenberg graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1983, earning her RN diploma. In 1997, she graduated from Quinnipiac College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health and Science. Donna then graduated with distinction from the Quinnipiac University Adult Nurse Practitioner program, and she received her Master of Science in Nursing degree in May 2007. Donna earned the Quinnipiac University Faculty Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence for her performance in the Adult Nurse Practitioner program.
Donna has been practicing nursing for over 30 years, with clinical emphasis on internal medicine, cardiac care, and diabetes care. Her professional experiences include critical care nursing, cardiovascular nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, ambulatory surgery, and post-anesthesia care. During recent years, Donna has turned her professional focus towards caring for patients with diabetes. Immediately prior to joining Endocrine Associates of Connecticut, Donna worked as a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist at Yale New Haven Hospital’s Saint Raphael Campus.
Donna’s professional affiliations include memberships in the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and the Connecticut Association of Diabetes Educators.
Karen Moriarty earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. In 1994, she began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Karen is a 2002 graduate of the Adult Nurse Practitioner program at Yale University, where she was inducted into the National Honor Society of Nursing. She also earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Yale University in 2002.
Karen’s extensive nursing experience includes adult inpatient medicine, HIV/AIDS, and medical intensive care. At Yale New Haven Hospital, she achieved Clinical Nurse II status and co-chaired the Yale MICU Sedation Committee. As a clinical nurse practitioner, Karen first worked in the field of Rheumatology. She is interested in helping patients manage chronic disease, one of many reasons she is excited to join Endocrine Associates of Connecticut.
Karen’s professional affiliations include membership in CTAPRNS and the American Diabetes Association.
As Kristiane Proto leaves clinical practice to join Medtronic’s support team, the addition of both Donna and Karen will allow us to expand our patient care hours and capabilities. Starting in March, Donna Greenberg will be accepting new patients in both our New Haven (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and Branford (Tuesday, Thursday) offices, while Karen Moriarty will be accepting new patients in our Branford office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
