Adam Mayerson, M.D.
Endocrinologist

Dr. Adam Mayerson founded Endocrine Associates of Connecticut in October 2001 with his late partner Dr. Gordon Reid. Dr. Mayerson was born and raised in Somerset, New Jersey. In 1992, he earned his B.A. in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University. He earned his M.D. at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996.

Dr. Mayerson completed his Internal Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1999 and a fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism at the Yale School of Medicine in 2001. He was named Associate Section Chief of Endocrinology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2007. He is actively involved with teaching Yale medical students, resident and fellows, holding the title of Associate Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Mayerson was elected President of the New Haven County Medical Association for the 2009-2010 term.

Philip Goldberg, M.D.
Endocrinologist

Dr. Philip Goldberg established the shoreline (Branford) office of Endocrine Associates of Connecticut in October 2005. Dr. Goldberg was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. In 1992, he earned his B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University. After earning his M.D. at Cornell University Medical College in 1996, Dr. Goldberg completed his Internal Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1999. Then, after spending two years practicing primary care at Clinton Internal Medicine (Clinton, CT), Dr. Goldberg returned to Yale University in 2001 to complete a four-year fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism. Dr. Goldberg is a dedicated clinician and teacher. In and out of the office, he devotes much of his time to educating medical students, residents, and fellows at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Surani Fernando, M.D.
Endocrinologist

Dr. Surani Fernando has been part of Endocrine Associates of Connecticut since January 2007. She was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Queens, New York. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia College, New York receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She subsequently earned her M.D at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr Fernando then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2000 and was Chief Resident at the Department of Medicine, Hospital of Saint Raphaels in 2001. She returned to Yale University to complete a three-year fellowship in Endocrinolgy, Diabetes and Metabolism, where she devoted her research time to the study of hypoglycemia in Type 1 Diabetes. Along with her busy clinical practice at Endocrine Associates, she is also a preceptor and educator for medical students, residents and fellows at the Yale School of Medicine.

Kai Yang, M.D.
Endocrinologist

Dr. Kai Yang joined Metabolism Associates, in New Haven, CT in 1997 and subsequently Endocrine Associates of Connecticut in 2001. In 1984, she earned her B.A. in Biochemistry and English at Smith College. After earning her M.D. at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Yang completed her Internal Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1991. She then completed a fellowship/research training in Endocrinology & Metabolism. Dr. Yang is a dedicated clinician and teacher, and runs the weekly Thyroid Conference/monthly Endocrine Tumor Board at Yale University School of Medicine, where she is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Endocrinology.

Irina Rosewater, M.D.
Endocrinologist

Dr Rosewater was born in Kiev, Ukraine and moved to New Haven, C T with her family in 1990. She graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1993 and went on to earn a BA in Zoology from Connecticut College in New London, CT in 1997. Subsequently, she earned my MD from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA and completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at UMDNJ, Robert Wood Johnson Medical College. She then returned to CT and completed a three-year fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Yale University. In August of 2009 she was delighted to join Endocrine Associates and combines clinical practice with medical education, working with medical residents from Hospital of St Raphael.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and is a member of Endocrine society, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

Christine Signore, M.D.
Endocrinologist

Dr. Christine M. Signore is a Connecticut native. She graduated Summa cum Laude with a degree in Psychology from Boston University in 1999. She later received her MD, Summa cum Laude from Boston University in 2003, where she was the valedictorian of her class. Dr. Signore completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut in 2006, where she also served as Chief Medical Resident. She continued on to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism at the University of Connecticut in 2009.

Dr. Signore is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.

Kristiane Proto M.S.N., A.P.R.N.

Kristiane Proto MSN, APRN started her nursing career as a licensed practical nurse, graduating from Eli Whitney RVTS in 1989. She is also a graduate of St.Francis Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN diploma in 1995. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Sacred Heart University.She graduated with Honors from Sacred Heart University's Family Nurse Practitioner program receiving her Master of Science in Nursing degree in May 2008. She was the recipient of the Silver Medal of Excellence award for her program of study.

Kristiane has been practicing nursing for over twenty years, specializing in women's health, reproductive endocrinology, and emergency nursing for most of that time.She was named Nurse of the Year in 2004 for her work on the Labor and Delivery unit at Yale New Haven Hospital.Prior to joining the staff at Endocrine Associates, Kristiane worked as a nurse practitioner in the field of internal medicine.She also currently holds a position as an adjunct faculty member with Sacred Heart University's graduate nursing program.

Kristiane's professional affiliations include membership in the American Nurses Association and the American Diabetes Association.
